Lee Slocum, Ph.D

Expertise: citizen-police interactions; victimization reporting; legal socialization

Lee Slocum is a professor of Criminology & Criminal Justice at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She studies police-citizen interactions with a focus on how these encounters shape people’s behavior and their perceptions of law enforcement. Recently, her work has focused on students’ experiences with law enforcement in St. Louis County Schools. Lee is a part of the Research Network on Misdemeanor Justice, a group devoted to using data to inform conversations on the enforcement of minor offenses.
